This icon too was given by the fathers of the Lavra of St Sabbas to St Sabbas, Archibishop of Serbia, during a visit, thus fulfilling an old propecy of St Sabbas the Sanctified. Sabbas dedicated it to the Serbian kelli at Karyes, the “Typikario”, where he himself often stayed and where it remains today on the sanctuary screen to the right of the Gate Beautiful, that is, in the place of the icon of Christ, which is on the left, contrary to the usual practice.
